Position: Postdoctoral Researcher
Principal investigator: Esther Castellano
Project: MycoMatrix – Engineering of a Recombinant Live Biotherapeutic to Normalize Tumor Extracellular Matrix in KRAS-driven NSCLC
Location: Instituto de Biología Molecular y Celular del Cáncer, Salamanca, Spain
Duration: 3 years
Funding: Colaboración Público-Privada Program
Consortium Partners: Pulmobiotics and Vall d’Hebron Institut de Recerca
Are you a motivated scientist with expertise in parasitic bacteria, especially Mycoplasma, and a strong background in molecular biology? Join our dynamic research team in Salamanca, Spain, working on the MycoMatrix project to work with engineered live biotherapeutic for KRAS-driven Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC).
Project Overview: The MycoMatrix project, funded by the Colaboración Público-Privada Program, is a collaboration between Pulmobiotics and Vall d’Hebron Institut de Recerca. The goal of the project is to engineer a recombinant live biotherapeutic to normalize the tumor extracellular matrix in KRAS-driven NSCLC, advancing cancer treatment strategies by modifying the tumor microenvironment.
Position Details: As a Postdoctoral Researcher on the MycoMatrix project, you will: generate CAF-derived ECM and grow engineered Mycoplasma, to characterize the role of engineered live biotherapeutics in the tumor microenvironment; Cultivate, maintain and characterize 3D cell co-cultures to mimic the tumour microenvironment; Conduct molecular and cellular experiments to evaluate biotherapeutic efficacy; Utilize fluorescence and confocal microscopy for visualizing cellular processes; Employ flow cytometry for high-throughput analysis of cell populations; Collaborate closely with a diverse team of scientists from the lab and the consortium; Contribute to scientific publications and presentations.
